Meet Barbara aka "Babsie" — The Woman Behind the Brand

She was born in the heat of an Atlanta summer, July 1944 — and from the very beginning, she brought that same warmth everywhere she went.

Barbara was many things: a daughter of the South, a lover of music, a woman of deep faith, and a natural-born designer long before the world had a label for it. She moved through life the way her favorite songs did — with soul, intention, and a style that was entirely her own.

Her record collection told the story of her heart. Elvis Presley's smooth conviction. Diana Ross's glamour, sophistication and grace. Teddy Pendergrass's velvet passion. Marvin Gaye's aching, beautiful truth. She didn't just listen to music — she lived inside of it.

On the dance floor, she was magnetic. Disco lights caught the mirror in her clothing and threw light across every room she entered. She dressed like she knew she was someone — because she was. Sequins, shimmer, and shine weren't just fashion choices; they were declarations.

But beneath the glamour was a woman grounded in something greater. Barbara loved Jesus with the same fullness she loved everything else — completely and without apology. Her faith was her foundation, her song was her gift, and her creativity was her calling.

She didn't just inspire a brand. She was the blueprint.

Babsie & Co. Designs exists because she did — and everything we create carries a piece of her light.

In loving memory of Barbara — "Babsie" — forever my muse, my mother, my everything. 🖤
